
Training & Employment Program for the Unemployed – Coming Soon!
Purpose
The prevention and reduction of unemployment through the upgrading of unemployed individuals’ professional knowledge and skills, as well as their placement in subsidized employment positions.
Beneficiaries
Unemployed individuals registered in the DYPA unemployment registry, recipients of the Minimum Guaranteed Income (MGI), and homeless persons.
Eligible Employers
Private businesses and, in general, employers in the private sector engaged in regular economic activity and operating in all regions of the country.
Duration
The duration of the training is set at eighty (80) hours, and the duration of the employment is twelve (12) months.
Subsidy
• The subsidy for businesses amounts to 100% of the total cost (salary and social security contributions), i.e., €1,118 per month (€13,416 in total).
• If the business opts for the state aid scheme under the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER), the subsidy covers 50% of the total cost (salary and contributions).
• The subsidy includes Christmas and Easter bonuses as well as the vacation allowance.
PROCEDURE
✓ Businesses submit their application electronically via gov.gr at the following address:
✓ Businesses select the applicable state aid scheme.
✓ Businesses define the job positions, specialties, and required qualifications.
✓ DYPA verifies that the business meets the eligibility criteria by evaluating the application within 10 working days.
✓ DYPA refers candidates to the business based on the job requirements, within 5 working days from the issuance of the approval/funding decision.
✓ The business makes a preselection from among the candidates within 10 working days.
✓ DYPA informs the preselected unemployed individual by any appropriate means within 3 days.
✓ The preselected candidate fills in an online participation form, selects and attends a training program of their choice (e.g., office employee or sales assistant), and then participates in certification exams.
✓ Upon certification, the business proceeds with the hiring.
