Project Description

The integrated and sustainable management of natural resources (and of cultural heritage) were the center of the SusTEn project. SusTEn’s main objective was to design and practice an integrated framework that provided a synthetic, systemic and systematic approach of rational planning and implementation of strategies, policies and measures for effectively managing natural and cultural resources and for serving sustainable socio–economic development at the local/regional level.

The project emphasized on collaboration and leading role of local Actors of all related categories and on transnational networking and joint action. In the frame of the globalised economy, the transnational added value derives from cooperation and synergies among Actors of critical fields and of areas with similar needs and complementary sustainable tourism products and comparative advantages.

The project was implemented on behalf of the University of Patras.
