Description.
The project aims to upgrade the professional qualifications of up to 550 laid-off employees from the companies Lambrakis Press Organization S.A. (DOL), Ethnos Publications S.A., and Pegasus Magazines Publications S.A., during the period from May 29, 2017, to February 28, 2018. The objective is for participants to acquire additional knowledge and skills that will have a direct and positive impact on enhancing their professional capabilities and career advancement.
DIMITRA Educational Consulting S.A. is the coordinating body of the consortium “DIMITRA Educational Consulting S.A. – MASTER S.A. – PAPAVASSILIOU ATH. & CO. G.P.” In addition to coordination and management, DIMITRA is also responsible for implementing counseling, training, education, and certification activities within the framework of this project.
The project’s activities aim to upgrade individual skills and qualifications by enhancing and providing support to former employees, so that they may find better and more stable employment opportunities, as well as receive assistance in the process of starting a new business.
The project’s activities include:
A. Career Counseling (25 individual sessions).
Action A includes the planning and implementation of 25 individual career counseling sessions for each beneficiary of the project. The objective of this action is achieved through the development of a personalized reintegration pathway into the labor market for each beneficiary and the support provided for the implementation of their individual action plan. During the sessions, beneficiaries are also referred to the subsequent actions of the project.
B1. Continuing Vocational Training
The objective of Action B1 is to provide the participating beneficiaries with vocational training programs, totaling three hundred (300) instructional hours, with the primary aim of supporting their integration, reintegration, and/or continued participation in the labor market.
The training program is implemented in three (3) successive phases corresponding to the thematic modules:
Phase 1: Thematic module “IT BASIC SKILLS”
Phase 2: Thematic module “SOFT SKILLS”
Phase 3: Thematic module “SPECIALIZED SKILLS”
B2. Specialized Training / Education
Action B2 includes:
- Action B.2.1 concerns specialized training/retraining, e.g., specialized course cycles, initial vocational education and training leading to certification, and is addressed to 40 beneficiaries.
- Action B.2.2 concerns the acquisition of a degree from higher education institutions (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree – EQF Levels 6 and 7) and is addressed to 10 beneficiaries.
C. Contribution for business establishment.
Action C concerns the funding of up to 60 beneficiaries, as identified through the stages of Action A, in order to support them in the process of establishing a new business. The beneficiaries of this specific action emerged and developed their business plans within the framework of the Vocational Counseling sessions, while the management of Action C is carried out by the Managing Authority.
D. Employment Position Subsidy
Action D provides for the subsidization of 50 job positions in businesses located in the Attica Region and is implemented by an Intermediate Managing Authority in collaboration with the Consortium of Companies. Action D supports the ultimate objective of implementing Actions A and B, which is the integration of beneficiaries into job positions within the local labor market.
