GreenComp School – Press Release no1
The GreenComp School project, an ambitious initiative funded by the ERASMUS+ Forward-looking Projects programme, has officially launched to transform how sustainability is taught in primary education across Europe. By implementing the European Commission’s GreenComp framework, the project aims to equip learners of all ages—from early childhood to adulthood—with the knowledge, empathy, and responsibility needed to live in harmony with our planet.
Key activities under this initiative include the identification of core sustainability competences for primary school educators and the creation of a micro-credentialed Blended Learning program. This program will empower both current teachers and university students to integrate sustainability into various subjects, ensuring environmental responsibility becomes a lifelong habit rather than just a one-time lesson. To ensure real-world impact, the
project will also feature Focus Groups with parents and experts to validate these tools for the primary school context.
