 I.T.D. “DIMITRA” organized on Friday the 19th of February a meeting for art instructors within the STEP program “Supporting Talent to Employment”. More specifically, during the meeting, which took place in I.T.D. “Dimitra’s” premises in Larisa, Ms. Anastasopoulou Vaso presented the program’s aims. Moreover, Ms. Katsara Christina analyzed the training material that has come about from the cooperation of the organizations that participate in the program, while there was a discussion about the best way of its utilization in the Greek actuality. At the same time, the training material was delivered to art instructors in order to test it in the educative procedure and then make the necessary remarks. The abovementioned training material has to do with the following: 1. Creation & Management of educational environment. 2. Support provision to the trainees for expereiences’ acquisition in different art forms. 3. Maintenance of the position in the working market through the continuous professional development, the effective netting & the administration of personal work. STEP program addresses to supporting young disadvantaged people who are presently participating in training in non formal and informal learning environments in the cultural and creative industries. It is a Transfer of Innovation project that aims to the development of transnational, European competencies for vocational mentors and teachers in the non-formal learning sector (NFLS) in the creative industries with a particular emphasis on how mentors can support young disadvantaged people to achieve professional progress (make the ‘STEP’) in to the fields of creative arts and become mentors and support workers in the field themselves. The program is co funded by the European Union within the Leonardo da Vinci program.
