Brief History

The company "DIMITRA" Institute of Training and Development S.A. (training organization) was established in 1989 in Larissa by a group of young scientists, who wished to invest in the development of the human resources of the entire Greece.

Seated in Larissa, today it maintains two permanent branches in Athens and Thessaloniki, but through other collaborations it has developed with other Vocational Training Centres, it covers through its services the entire country.


1987
Submission and approval of the first vocational training programs by the General Secretariat of Youth.

1989
Establishment of the Institute of Training and Development "DIMITRA" in the form of a Civil, Non-profit Company.

1990
Submission and approval of the first vocational training programs, within the framework of the Mediterranean Integrated Programs.

Implementation of the first projects within the Framework of the 1st Structural Fund.


1991
Operation of the first branches in Athens, Thessaloniki and Volos.

1992
Operation of branches in Serres and Kavala.

1993
Operation of the branch in Brussels.

1995
1st Certification of the company as a Vocational Training Centre, seated in Larissa, with branches in Athens, Thessaloniki, Volos and Kavala.

Implementation of the first projects within the framework of the 2nd Structural Fund.


1997
Development of the first Internet based training environment (synchronous distance- learning system "Dimitra On Line - DOL"), which was utilized for the training of employees within the framework of the Community Initiative ADAPT.

1998
2nd Certification of the company by the National Accreditation Center for Continuing Vocational Training (EKEPIS), as a Vocational Training Centre seated in Larissa, with branches in Athens and Thessaloniki. Certified thematic fields: Culture and Sports Professions / Finance and Management/ Information Technology / Tourism and Services' Provision.

2000
Transformation of the legal status of the company from Civil, Non Profit to Joint Stock.

2001
3rd Certification of the company by the National Accreditation Center for Continuing Vocational Training at new, privately owned premises, both in Larissa (seat), but also Athens and Thessaloniki (branches).

2002
Implementation of the first projects within the framework of the 3rd Structural Fund.

2003
On going evaluation by EKEPIS. First (1st) Vocational Training Center on the national level and second (2nd) among all the certified Vocational Training Centers according to the classification of EKEPIS.

Installation of ERP Software for the effective administration of operational resources. Supported applications: Financial Management / Commercial Management / Custom Made Application General Management and Administration of Community Programs and Projects.


2004
Merger with the company CORPUS S.A. Research & Consultancy.

On going evaluation by EKEPIS. First (1st) Vocational Training Center with the highest grading - 88,45 according to the EKEPIS classification list.


2005
Expansion of the Thematic Fields of the organization, coverage of all nine (9) Thematic Fields based on the new certification of 17/5/2005.

Certification of the company in the Provision of Training Services and Organizing of Seminars, Provision of Consultancy for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship and the Development of Human Resources, according to the quality assurance standard EN ISO 9001:2000 (TUV CERT certification).


2006
On going evaluation by EKEPIS. First (1st) Vocational Training Center (with the highest grading - 90,63 in Experience, Organizing, Operation and Quality of the provided services) according to the EKEPIS classification list.

Activation of the organization in the provision of distance learning services through the Internet (asynchronous platform and training materials).

Participation in the proposal committee of the Greek Association of Vocational Training Center Companies within the framework of the public debate for the 4th Programming Period (2007-2013) of the Greek Ministry of Labour.
